Who should attend: Anyone who would like to remember Dale. Anyone who appreciates the same things as Dale, the outdoors, the woods, wildlife and walking. Anyone who just wants a pleasant walk in the country side.
When: The route is open all year round, plus there is an annual organised walk, in memory of Dale, at the start of September.
Map: Download a zipped-up, double-sided leaflet with the map, directions and information on the walk by clicking here. The walk is about 4 miles through woodland, open fields and country lanes. It is all public footpaths and includes a section through Coed y Garth woods and land owned by Mostyn Estates.
Coed y Garth is owned by the Woodland Trust, the charity chosen for donations instead of flowers at Dales' funeral and we know Dale spent time up in those woods, so we feel it's important to include Coed y Garth. A memorial bench has been carved in these woods, feel free to sit and relax here and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The walk is officially known as 'The Dale Way' and there are way markers to identify the route.
Directions: The walk begins and end from Garth Mill. Turn off the Coast Road (A548) next to the Llinegar restaurant, sign posted Ffynnongroew, then first left up Garth Lane. Park before the stream opposite the Mill then walk up Garth Lane and follow the waymarkers. Please note that parking is limited and larger groups might consider parking in the lay by on the Coast Road and walking round to the Mill.
